We are delighted to announce the recent completion of two Phyco-Flow systems for the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. This development is the latest stage in a relationship dating back to 2004 when a BioFence system was installed to support work being undertaken within their R&D centre.

For the past 14 years Varicon Aqua have worked closely with the Blue Lagoon as their supplier of choice for all their primary algae production needs. We have been extremely fortunate in supplying several upgrades and expansions to the Blue Lagoon’s production capacity; recently completing their transition from BioFence to Phyco-Flow in late December 2017.

This recent installation consisted of serpentine Phyco-Flow reactors, with integrated cleaning systems, LED lighting and updated process control all aimed at boosting the production of their proprietary algal strain; which forms a key component of the Blue Lagoon personal care product range.
